Bolatito Meshioye is a Nigerian Illustrator based in the UK. She spent her first 15 years in Lagos, Nigeria before moving to the UK to pursue a higher education in Art. After attending Abbey College in Manchester(2017), she completed her foundation year in Fine Art in Central Saint Martins (2018) before returning back to Manchester to attain a degree in Illustration with Animation at Manchester Metropolitan University (2022).
Moving to the UK helped the artist find a deeper appreciation for her culture and see the beauty in the chaos that is Lagos. It is this beauty and energy that she tries to capture in her work using vibrant colours, lines and textures. Her work is inspired by Yoruba mythology and literature about the ways Nigerians have experienced the country. Primarily a digital artist, she also enjoys working with traditional media like colour pencils and ink.
